Oscar & Ma was founded by Scott Green, an Orange County entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and philanthropist who was inspired to create employment opportunities for people who need a second chance.

Scott developed the knowledge required to build an event coordination company while working in the for-profit event business. He has translated that experience to Oscar & Ma with the plan of bringing his know-how to the non-profit world.

My vision for Oscar & Ma is to help the community in two distinct ways:

  • First, work with non-profits to effectively reach their audiences through our great events and creative services.

  • Second, and even more important, hire people who need a chance to enter the workforce, provide them opportunities to learn new business skills, and train them for successful careers in well-paying jobs.

Oscar & Ma’s mission is to create a workplace where people who need job opportunities can receive on-the-job training and experience in a professional field. Working with other non-profit partners, Oscar & Ma generates opportunities for people with barriers to employment, including opportunity youth, the unhoused, the formerly incarcerated, and survivors of domestic abuse—teaching skills and providing a pathway to future employment.
